Is it really that close?

How is it possible that I saw something at Target yesterday that expires on John's first birthday?  Is it really that close?

It was Pumpkin Pie coffee creamer.  
No, I didn't buy it.  Yes, I wanted to.

    (1) NO way John is almost 1 year old. Because that would mean I'm almost a year older. And we all know that's not true.

    (2) Is it weird that I want to buy pumpkin pie coffee creamer and I don't drink coffee?!?
